The Public Works Department employs forty employees and has more than one-hundred pieces of equipment to carry out its service for approximately 150 lane miles of streets. Our responsibilities are to the citizens in providing a safe and clean community in which to live. We also provide weekly curbside garbage collection to approximately 9,000 locations.

The City of Shelbyville Public Works Department is dedicated to enhancing our citizen’s quality of life by providing quality maintenance to city-owned infrastructure within the City limits.
